Client:       Name not disclosed

Location: 32 Upper Thomson, Singapore.

Area:

Focus:       design development and construction drawings

Description:

"The project is about a transformation of a 50-year-old dilapidated terrace house. The introduction of an internal open-to-sky courtyard is the most important feature of the house bringing daylight and generate natural ventilation through the house.

To create a sense of space with its narrow and lengthy plot, when the sliding doors are open the ground level becomes an open free plan, opening to the front patio and internal courtyard.

The frame on the front facade and around windows ward off rain effectively, and are painted in black as a contrast from the white walls to accentuate the framing effect. Windows are carefully positioned not only to bring in light but also to frame views of the sky and greenery.

The project was completed in November 2015.

The project is featured in Design Milk and D+A magazine Issue 091 2016"
